Apparently it gets hot in there...
So we need to figure something else out.
Pool pump overheating issues. I didn't realize how hot an electric motor gets. The fan that was installed in the pump broke, Nick tried to glue it, but it didn't hold up. So he 3d printed one, then another (center hole was too big, tried to print an adapter, but that didn't work at all...), then another. The issue is that they get too hot and deform.
A couple weeks ago the pump on our pool went out. From the symptoms, humming noise, I thought it might be the starting capacitor, so I looked at it and it was bulgy... So I ordered some replacements and tried that. No good.
I put the pool up on Saturday (by myself! no mean task). Then we filled the pool Saturday and Sunday. It actually filled up pretty fast in my opinion. We probably just let it fill longer than in the past (we like to give the well pump breaks). Then today we went out and picked up the sand and muriatic acid.
It is just starting to take on that brown color, tomorrow morning it will look really disgusting. But in a week or so it will hopefully be crystal clear. Chemistry it amazing!
We purchased an above ground pool about 2 years ago on clearance at Target. It is a 20' Intex type pool. I tried to find someone to level an area for us for a couple weeks with no luck, put would email back, then not show up! I finally was able to talk with one of our neighbors and he agree to come over and level the area.
